An Amazing Journey to Tirupati and its Temples

Tirupati is the famous temple city in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. I have always longed to visit the temple of Tirumala for a long time. This time I planned the trip entirely myself and went to Tirupati to pay the homage at the temple. There are many ways to reach the temple town of Tirupati from Katpadi Junction. I chose to travel by train as it is very convenient and easy way of travelling.

Train Journey from Katpadi

There are a number of trains available in the sector. I wanted to travel in the AC 3rd tier of the railways and hence I booked the tickets in the Sabari Express that starts from the Trivandrum Central Railway Station. The train reaches the Katpadi Junction at 22.45 at night. I used IRCTC to book my tickets in the train and booked them easily online using the net banking option.

Hotels In New Digha

Hotels In New Digha | Image Resource : wordpress.com

In today’s rapidly advancing world, it has become an important job to remember that at times we need to relax ourselves and give ourselves some rest from the stressful schedule of work. We get so engrossed in the infamous rat race today, that we are not really left with any time to follow our passions and to do things that we enjoy, and all else takes a low priority in our lives. But the fact still remains that in regular intervals we should take some time to relax our mind and body.

Having this thought as a driving rule of my life, I always make sure that I go on a vacation at least once every year, to guarantee that I don’t miss out on some great experiences in life. As the years go on, exploring new places has changed into a hobby for me. I decided to go to Digha when I got a leave recently, to hang out with my friends and have a good time.

I couldn’t wait for my vacation date to come. I was quite excited to get to Digha and start my holiday with my friends. There were many things I planned to do in Digha this time like visiting some of the great beaches in town and also the famous aquarium. Digha is a major tourist destination in Eastern India and for good reason. There are many beautiful places as well as places of tourist interest in the city that are quite fun. I also wanted to try out the unique Bengali cuisine, especially their delicious fish and seafood preparations. I was thus quite excited for this trip, and booked my tickets well in advance of the journey.

Booking My Train From Vishakhapatnam To Digha

Being two destinations on the Eastern coast of India, there are a lot of trains running between Vishakhapatnam and Digha. I had a lot of different choices for trains from Vishakhapatnam to Digha. After doing a good deal of research and looking at the facilities, timings, and other details of all the trains, I finally chose the Vishakhapatnam – Digha SF Express and booked my tickets on it. My journey, though of a rather long duration, was quite comfortable and enjoyable. Some of the best things about the trip were:

  • Shortened duration as it was a Superfast train.
  • The train was maintained clean and neat.
  • The train ran on schedule.
  • Excellent pantry car and catering services.

Three of the places I had planned to visit were the Digha Beach, Shankarpur Beach, and the Marine Aquarium. Both the beaches were excellent beaches, though Digha beach was a little more crowded than Shankarpur beach, it also had other facilities such as snack stalls, etc. The Marine Aquarium was a delightful experience and it was quite interesting to see so many different forms of marine life.

Journey For Business Turns Fruitful Through Smooth Travel

I travel to different destinations on business trips on a frequent basis. Recently, I went to Chennai to attend a business meeting. My journey by Spicejet was a highly comfortable one. I reached the city during the late hours of the evening. To ensure a comfortable stay in the city, I booked a hotel which was based in Anna Salai, which is one of the prime locations of Chennai. Here are some of the major highlights of my Chennai trip: –

I put up at Hotel Raintree during my week long stay in Chennai. My room was well equipped with all modern amenities for a comfortable stay. It had a cosy twin bed, a writing desk and a flat screen TV. The presence of internet wireless connectivity within the room helped me to prepare the presentations which I was going to make at the conference. The room services were available at specific time periods during the day. Daily cleaning was done within my room and so, it remained pretty clean and tidy.

Hotel Raintree Anna Salai offers a wide range of Indian and international delicacies. Since I am an avid foodie I tried some local delicacies. The Urlai Roast which is made from baby potatoes and roasted & prepared using freshly grounded masala formed a perfect combination with the rice. Born in a Bengali Christian family, I didn’t know that Tamils could prepare such unique delicacies with potatoes.

The Chicken 65, prepared using chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder and 1 beaten egg had a unique aroma. Served with wedges and raw onions, it had a sumptuous taste and helped me to finish my dinner in the perfect manner. I was deeply impressed by the culinary skills of the hotel’s chefs.

Exploring Chennai

For the first two day, I was busy attending the business conference. Therefore, I went out to explore the city on the third day, which was a Sunday. My first destination was Marina Beach. Stretching a distance of 13 km from St. George Fort to Mahabalipuram, it is the world’s second longest natural beach. The sight of the sea waves touching the coastline was a pleasure for the eyes.

I also visited Fort St. George. Built in 1640 by the British East India Company, it was the first fort to be constructed by the British. The major attractions within the fortress are St Mary’s Church, a museum which contains many artefacts from the colonial period and Wellesley House which contains paintings of the fort’s governor. The fort is home to administrative offices of Tamil Nadu Government and Legislative Assembly. Situated on the Rajaji Salai Road, it is managed by the Archaeological Survey of India.

The Madras War Cemetery, established in 1952 by the Imperial War Graves Commission is also an important attraction of the city. Built in the memory of people who died during World War II, it contains 856 graves of people from India, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and UK
